Inspect your tires monthly and before long trips

  • Check the tread depth – 6/32 or deeper is optimum. If tread depth is 4/32 or less, you should consider replacing your tires.

  • Look for bulges in the sidewall or raised tread that could indicate a problem with the belt.

  • Tire rotation – Every 5,000 to 7,000 miles is typical but your manufacturer may recommend more or less often.
  • Tire balancing – Recommended for newly installed tires and whenever tires are removed for rotation or repair to limit vibration.
  • Wheel alignment – To maintain even wear of your tires, alignment should be adjusted any time new tires are installed or if you have hit a pothole or notice pulling when you steer.
